How to consult Dr. Pezzi
If you wish to consult me and agree with the terms and conditions below, send your question(s) to me and pay for a response with PayPal (to pay with a check or money order via snail mail, contact me to obtain my address). If your payment is not sufficient for what you asked, I will refund it. Higher payments will likely induce me to respond more quickly and comprehensively.
| $25* (see below) | $50 | $75 | $100 | $150 |
| $200 | $300 | $400 | $500 | $750 |
| $1000 | $2500 | $5000 | $7500 | $10,000 |
*NOTE: $25 consultations are available ONLY for topics that I have approved in advance. For example, if I mentioned in one of my books or web sites that you can consult me for $25 about a specific subject, then I will respond for that price. For all other consultations, $50 is the minimum payment—and that is reserved for low-complexity cases.
Terms and conditions
- By requesting a consultation, you agree that the information I provide will not be used to replace the care of your physician. There is no substitute for hands-on medical evaluation. Nevertheless, you may need information that your personal physician does not know, or does not have the time to provide.
- You agree that no doctor-patient relationship is established with me. The Internet is obviously a great medium for exchanging information, but it is no substitute for hands-on medical evaluation. I strongly advise you to be under the care of your personal physician, and to discuss all your concerns and problems with him or her.
- You agree to not use any of the information (and/or devices/inventions or other tangible objects) that I provide unless your physician approves the adoption of it as being safe and effective for you.
- You must be over the age of 18. If you are younger, a parent or legal guardian must contact me on your behalf.
- Unless you pay an additional fee specifically for it, and this separate fee is clearly indicated as being distinct from the consultation fee and the fee for a private response (see below), all information provided by me is made on a zero-liability basis without exception. Given the litigiousness of our society, I wish to make this perfectly clear: you cannot sue for any reason. You are responsible for ensuring that such a provision is enforceable in your area. If this provision is not enforceable, do not contact me. If you wish to retain the right to sue, you must pay for it in advance. (Why in advance? Think about it this way: is it fair to wait until after you've had an accident to pay your auto insurance company? Obviously not.) You may not think that it is fair to pay for your own insurance, but you do it every day because doctors, other service providers, and manufacturers bundle their insurance costs into their overall cost. Just because that cost is not itemized and visible to you as a payment for insurance does not mean that you are not paying it. You are. I could bundle this fee into my charges as others do, but I think it is better to have à la carte payments in which you specifically pay for what you want, but not for what you do not want. You could likely save thousands of dollars per year if others gave you this option. Don’t believe me? Just do a search for “tort tax” and spend a few hours reading about the astronomical sums you pay for it. To avail yourself of this insurance option, you must specifically inquire about it when you first contact me so I can inform you of the current rate.
- You agree that I may anonymously publish your questions, and my answers, in future publications, if I think that others may benefit from this information. For an additional fee, I will agree to generate a private response only.
- The response I provide may include information that I have not yet published in any book or web site, or it may include information (in whole, or in part) that I have previously published. I encourage everyone to read my books and web sites before consulting me if you wish to obtain the most information for the least price; doing so will enable you to narrow your question(s) and hence minimize my consultation fee. I realize that reading my books and web sites could take months, so you may decide that a higher consultation fee is worth a speedy answer to your question(s).
- While I guarantee that I can offer helpful advice, I cannot guarantee a cure or amelioration of your disease or condition. I am a physician, not God. Therefore, "helpful advice" shall be construed as offering suggestions that will help increase the probability of you obtaining the correct diagnosis and treatment, or of providing information to reduce your risk of acquiring or developing a specific disease. Furthermore, any guarantee is void if you do not follow through with my suggestions. For example, if I suggest a certain test or procedure and you do not have it done, then I guarantee nothing except that you are wasting your time. Doctors are not magicians; we do not pull diagnoses out of thin air. A medical history can often suggest a possible diagnosis, but tests are often needed to confirm it.
- You agree that these terms and conditions are perpetually binding to you, your heirs, agents, successors, assigns, devisees, executors, personal representatives, legal representatives, attorneys, associates, beneficiaries, administrators, trustees, guardians, conservators, creditors, partners, affiliates, and everyone else under the sun.
